Finely woven Persian Josan rug. Stately little rug with an an excellent grouping of colors and richly detailed design. Professionally cleaned.
Universally appreciated for their quality by experts and collectors, Josan rugs, often attributed to the "Hamadan" family of rugs could be considered an outlier. Some experts attribute it to the "Malayir" family because of its proximate location while others argue that with its typically used blue double-weft, it should be part of the Sarouk family. Regardless, Josan is considered one of the finest village rugs, i,e., cottage industry production. This beautifully laid out, little eye catching gem's multicolored vase with intentional abrash along with the aged colors contribute to its appeal.
Thank you.
