Design Considerations:

Mostly known for their delicate symphonic designs of teardrop medallions and unending wandering floral vines or stately prayer rug designs, there is small number of rugs that were made briefly emulating the Joshaghan snowflake design with a finer weave, more detailed motifs and more extensive color range. This small group of rugs is one of those finely woven geometric designed ones that show the cross pollination of designs over the centuries. Experts argue that the Joshaghan design was derived from Safavid era Vase designs. Hearing the design trail from Safavid Court rugs to village to city workshop interpretation is one of those things that make Persian rugs so fascinating. Kudos to the weaver and designer!
