Semi-Antique Persian Josan rug from the 1950s packed with detailed motifs highlighted by some attractive teal greens.
Universally appreciated for their quality by experts and collectors, Josan rugs, often attributed to the "Hamadan" family of rugs could be considered an outlier.
Some experts attribute it to the "Malayir" family because of its proximate location while others argue that with its typically used blue double-weft, it should be part of the Sarouk family. Regardless, Josan is considered one of the finest village rugs, i,e. cottage industry production.
Thank you.
